Dirty B

About Dirty B

Dirty B has been rapping since 1995. He moved into the Pubs — Halifax public housing, the place the crew calls PUBTOWN — at 15, and the music has carried that address ever since: raw stories, real neighbourhood, no filter.

His first music video, SUMMATIME (2007), was shot at a neighbourhood BBQ with the Camix car crew rolling through. Seeing the block turn out for it is what made him get serious and build his own studio.

Today he runs Blue Flames 902 — the label, the BF Radio station and the East Coast and West Coast artist galleries — and the 902 Artists community he started on Facebook, now more than 3,300 members strong. He's Edmonton-based these days, but every bar still reps the 902.

Influences: 2Pac, Nas, Too Short, DMX
